Job Title: Materials Laboratory Manager
Job Description: G3 Quality, Inc. is a southern California based Engineering Quality Control / Quality Assurance firm. We focus on providing QA/QC program development, flexible pavement engineering, technical specification development, materials laboratory testing and research, design-build quality program management, and HMA mix designs (Hveem, Marshall and Superpave) and materials consulting on California's infrastructure projects. Our corporate office is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team of professionals.
This position requires experience in areas of a high volume construction materials laboratory including laboratory operations and management experience. The position manages all laboratory operations including HMA, geotechnical, concrete and aggregates, laboratory technicians, materials testing proposals, and most importantly support of external clients. The primary duties included:
Responsible for all laboratory certifications / accreditation's and annual renewals
Coordinating equipment maintenance and performing calibrations
Responsible for tracking laboratory samples and making sure testing turnaround schedules are achieved
Review and training of all laboratory technicians performing testing, laboratory test worksheets, calculations and assurance that all procedures comply with the Quality System Manual and pertinent test procedures
Manage technicians work scopes and work schedules
Enforces a positive work environment and promote continued education to the laboratory staff
Excellent communication skills both oral and written, experienced in maintaining client relationships, proactive with client support and goal oriented
Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in the geotechnical / construction materials testing laboratory field, experience in a laboratory management role knowledgeable of test procedures and certifying agencies preferred. Total experience should include laboratory testing of hot mix asphalt, aggregates, concrete, and geotechnical.
Preferred Certifications:
Caltrans 100, 200, 300, and 500 series test procedure qualifications
Caltrans Certificate of Proficiency for AASHTO Test Procedures
ACI Lab I (Concrete Strength Testing and Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1)
