Illumination Foundation (IF) is a growing non-profit organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and children's and family programs.
IF currently has 13 facilities with 22 micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire.
Job DescriptionThe Benefits Enrollment Specialist is responsible for auditing client charts to confirm MediCalenrollment, assist clients with MediCal and MediCare enrollment, and communicate with hospitals regarding Illumination Foundation's recuperative care program.
The pay range for this position is $24.
00 - $26.
00 per hour, depending on experience.
ResponsibilitiesAudit Illumination Foundation client charts to confirm MediCal benefits enrollment.
Perform insurance entry clean ups as needed.
Assist clients with MediCal recertification and enrollment.
Identify clients eligible for MediCare and assist them with benefits enrollment.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of MediCal and Medicare insurance.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of Managed Care Plans in the Southern California areaDemonstrate familiarity with hospitals in the Southern California area and sufficient knowledge to competently discuss recuperative care services with hospitals.
Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of Social Services Agency and Department of Public Social Services processes.
Act in an ethical manner reflecting core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect and responsibility.
Acts above reproach in all that is done on behalf of Illumination Foundation.
Models openness, honesty and accountability to colleagues, volunteers, donors and all others involved with Illumination Foundation.

Preferred Experience/Minimum QualificationsRequired:
Valid CA Driver's License and eligibility for company vehicle insurance.
Bachelor's degree or higher in public health, public administration, or a related fieldCustomer and client relations skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Understanding of MediCal, Medicare, and continuum of care homeless servicesPreferred:
2 years working in homeless services.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
