Job Summary The Administrative Specialist is responsible for assisting to resolve inquiries related to all functions within RCM Department.
An additional role within this position is to handle questions and inquiries from internal stakeholders related to patient accounts.
All tasks must be performed in accordance with best practices, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Review payer explanation of benefits for accuracy.
Point of contact to prepare and scan correspondence for outside partner review.
Track, verify and prepare payments for posting.
Work with billing partners to resolve inquiries.
Prepare, print and provide requested EMR documents to outside partners.
Submit patient claims and applications for financial assistance in a timely and HIPAA-compliant manner.
Promote an atmosphere of warmth, compassion, and understanding while demonstrating empathy and the ability to relate to patients and their families.
Role models the principles of TOI's Organizational Values.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Previous oncology-specific financial counseling experience preferred.
Claim follow-up and understanding of payer explanation of benefits.
Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office programs; Excel, Word etc.
High school diploma.
Must have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure, manage conflict, and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, nursing facility staff, patients, responsible parties.
Hourly Wage Estimate:
$18.
00 - $20.
00 / hour The estimate displayed represents the typical wage range of candidates hired.
