A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT The Solutions Architect (or Pre-Sales Engineer) is a pre-sales technical professional with in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise with enterprise IT storage, compute, networking, and applications solutions.
The Solutions Architect will interact directly with customers and other members of the sales and technical teams to conduct detailed discoveries of existing customer environments and technology objectives and then design solutions to meet business objectives.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Work with sales account teams to develop and close client opportunities Regularly participate in sales and prospect visits Take the lead in pre-sales discussions, discovering, and defining customer requirements surrounding data center solutions and services Develop proposals that incorporate the designs that address clients' specific business needs.
Whiteboard IT strategies, vendor recommendations, and business recommendations.
Align the business needs of customers and prospects to a technical solution and presenting the solution the customer in terms of business benefits Present technology roadmaps, technology trends, and industry priorities Achieve vendor and manufacturer certification, as required Perform related IT and sales duties, as required Job Qualifications Associate's Degree or equivalent and 3 plus years related experience in computer/systems engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience Industry Certification (example:
CCA, CCSP, VCP, VCDX, VTSP, or VSP, CCNA, CCDA, MCSE, PMP) A minimum of 3 years' experience in data center solutions Previous experience creating quotes or Statements of Work (SOW's) Strong technical knowledge of capabilities or direct experience with enterprise solutions (HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, Aruba) Strong interpersonal skills are required, with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster, manage relationships across internal staff, customers and C-level executives and clients.
